Our School Council

Our School Council is a group of pupils who are proud to represent the views and ideas of children across our school. We meet regularly to talk about what matters to us, share suggestions, and help make our school a happy and welcoming place for everyone. Each member is chosen by their classmates and works hard to make sure everyone’s voice is heard.

One of our favourite parts of being on the School Council is raising money for charity. We enjoy helping others and coming up with fun ideas to support good causes. This might include non-uniform days, bake sales, or special events. We also lead collective worships to tell the rest of the school about the charities we are supporting and to explain why our fundraising is important.

This year, we are also learning more about sustainability and how we can look after our environment. We are thinking about ways to reduce waste, recycle more, save energy, and care for our school grounds. We want to help our school community understand how small actions can make a big difference to our planet.

Being part of the School Council helps us grow in confidence, learn how to be good leaders, and work together as a team.

Our Charity Fundraising

We love supporting charities and helping those in need. Each year, our School Council helps to choose which causes to support and the whole school community gets involved in fundraising and giving.

This year, for our Harvest Festival, we collected donations for the Horncastle Food Larder. Everyone brought in tins, packets and other items to help local families who may be finding things difficult. It was wonderful to see how generous everyone was and to know that our efforts made a difference right here in our community.

In previous years, we raised money for two very special charities — LIVES and St Barnabas Hospice. Through a range of events and activities, we managed to raise over £700 for St Barnabas, which was an incredible achievement! We were so proud to support the important work both charities do to help people in our area.

We were also very proud to be invited by LIVES to take part in their Christmas advert. A group of children visited the local church, where we sang together for the filming. It was a special experience and a wonderful opportunity to support an important local charity while sharing the Christmas message through song

Working together on these projects reminds us how powerful kindness and teamwork can be.
